Accessing past RFx transactions

InstantMarkets maintains a historical archive of past solicitations — RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, ITBs, and more — going back several years. This lets you research what agencies have bought before, understand procurement patterns, and prepare stronger responses.

What is historical data?

Historical data includes:

Closed solicitations — opportunities whose response deadline has passed
Awarded contracts — solicitations that resulted in a contract award
Historical purchase orders — purchase orders issued by agencies for past procurements
Past invoices — where publicly available

How to access historical records

Run a search using keywords, NAICS codes, or agency filters as normal.
By default, results show only active (open) opportunities. To include historical records, open the Status filter and select Closed, Awarded, or All.
Results will now include past transactions matching your search.

Filtering historical results

You can narrow historical results further using:

Date range — filter by the original posting date or award date
Agency — scope to a specific agency's history
Opportunity type — e.g., only past RFPs, or only contract awards
NAICS code — filter to a specific industry category

What historical data is useful for

Estimating contract values — past awards often include the awarded dollar amount, giving you a baseline for pricing your response
Understanding buying cycles — see how often an agency re-bids a category and when the next opportunity might be posted
Identifying incumbents — award records show who won past contracts, helping you understand the competitive landscape
