Monitoring your public-sector customers

If you already have government customers — agencies you've sold to or are actively pursuing — InstantMarkets makes it easy to keep a close eye on their procurement activity so you never miss a rebid or a new opportunity.

Why monitor your existing customers

  • Rebid alerts — contracts don't last forever. When your current contract is up for rebid, you want to be the first to know and the most prepared to respond.
  • Upsell opportunities — agencies that already know you may issue new solicitations in adjacent categories you could also serve.
  • Relationship intelligence — staying current on what an agency is procuring helps you have more informed conversations with their procurement staff.

Setting up monitoring for a customer agency

Option 1: Follow the agency

Follow the agency directly to get a feed of everything they post. See Following a specific agency for instructions. This is best when you want comprehensive visibility into a single agency.

Option 2: Create a saved search filtered by agency

  1. Run a search with your keywords.
  2. In the Agency filter, select the specific agency.
  3. Save the search and create an alert from it.

This is best when you only care about solicitations in your specific category from that agency — not everything they post.

Option 3: Combine both

Follow the agency for broad awareness, and also set up a keyword-filtered alert for your core category. This way you get a high-level feed plus targeted notifications for your best-fit opportunities.

Staying ahead of rebids

Key indicators that a rebid is coming:

  • Contract end dates — check award records for the contract term; option years are often exercised but the base period end date is your planning horizon
  • Pre-bid notices — agencies sometimes post advance notices of upcoming solicitations months before the formal RFP
  • Sources sought / RFIs — agencies issue these to gauge market interest before committing to a full solicitation

Set up an alert for the agency filtered to Pre-bid and RFI opportunity types to catch early signals.
