Searching by geography or region
How to filter InstantMarkets search results by state, region, or map to focus on opportunities in your geographic market.
Searching by geography or region
InstantMarkets covers opportunities from agencies across the United States. You can target your searches geographically to focus on the states and regions where your business operates.
Filtering by state
- Run any search (or start from the main search page).
- In the left-side filters panel, open the Geography section.
- Click one or more state names to select them. Selected states are highlighted.
- Results update immediately to show only opportunities from those states.
To remove a state, click it again to deselect it.
Filtering by region
If you'd prefer to filter by multi-state region rather than individual states, click the Region tab in the Geography filter. Available regions include:
- Northeast
- Mid-Atlantic
- Southeast
- Midwest
- Southwest
- West / Pacific
Selecting a region selects all states within it. You can combine region and individual state selections.
Map view
Click the Map tab in the Geography filter to see an interactive U.S. map. Click states on the map to include or exclude them. This is useful for visually selecting a contiguous block of states (e.g., New England or the Gulf Coast).
Saving a geographic search
Once you've set up a geographically filtered search that suits your territory, save it — see Saving a search for later. You can create multiple saved searches for different territories (e.g., one for your home state and one for an expansion market).
A note on coverage
InstantMarkets covers agencies in all 50 states, but coverage density varies. States with more centralized procurement portals tend to have more complete coverage. See Where InstantMarkets data comes from for more on data sources and coverage.
