Creating an alert from a saved search
How to turn any saved search into an email alert so you're notified when new matching opportunities are posted.
Creating an alert from a saved search
Alerts let InstantMarkets notify you by email whenever a new opportunity matches one of your saved searches. Here's how to set one up.
Prerequisites
You need a saved search before you can create an alert. If you haven't saved one yet, see Saving a search for later.
Steps
- Click My Searches in the sidebar.
- Find the saved search you want to turn into an alert.
- Click Create Alert next to that search.
- Choose your notification frequency (see options below).
- Click Save Alert.
That's it — InstantMarkets will now email you when new opportunities matching that search are posted.
Notification frequency options
Frequency | When you receive email |
|---|---|
Immediate | As soon as a new match is found (can be multiple emails per day) |
Daily digest | Once per day, summarizing all new matches from the past 24 hours |
Weekly digest | Once per week, summarizing all new matches from the past 7 days |
If you're actively pursuing new business, Daily digest is the most popular choice — it keeps you informed without flooding your inbox.
Tips
- You can create multiple alerts from different saved searches — one per territory, one per product line, etc.
- If an alert is producing too many or too few results, edit the underlying saved search (add filters, refine keywords) rather than creating a new one.
- Alerts only notify you about new opportunities posted after the alert was created — they don't retroactively surface older results.
