Why am I not receiving alerts? Troubleshooting
If you've set up alerts but aren't getting emails, here are the most common causes and fixes.
1. Check your spam or junk folder
Alert emails come from notifications@instantmarkets.com. Many email providers — especially corporate ones — filter unknown senders. Check your spam or junk folder first.
Fix: Add notifications@instantmarkets.com to your contacts or safe senders list, then mark any misdelivered alerts as "Not spam."
2. Your alert is paused
A paused alert won't send any notifications.
Fix: Go to My Alerts and check that the toggle next to your alert is switched on (active, not paused).
3. No new opportunities have matched yet
Alerts only fire when new opportunities are posted that match your search. If you haven't received anything, it may simply mean no new matching opportunities have been posted since the alert was created.
Fix: Re-run the underlying saved search manually to check for recent results. If results are sparse, consider broadening your keywords or filters.
4. Your search is too narrow
Highly filtered searches — very specific keywords, multiple NAICS codes, a small geographic area, and a specific opportunity type all combined — may match very few or no new opportunities.
Fix: Edit the saved search to loosen one or two filters and see if results improve.
5. Your account email has changed or has a typo
If your account email was updated, alert delivery may have broken.
Fix: Go to Account menu → Notification Preferences and verify the delivery email address is correct.
6. You're on a free plan
Email alerts require a paid plan.
Fix: Upgrade your plan under Account menu → Subscription & Billing. See Free vs. paid features: what's included.
